Joining the Home Base Theatre troupe for this summer’s production of Shrek the Musical, Todd Bruse is an actor, director, and theatrical genius who has over 30 years of professional experience in the industry. Beginning as a lighting technician in San Francisco, Todd’s background in leading over 100 professional productions include: Stage Management, Set and Light Design, Sound Design, and Artistic Direction. He is currently the Producing Director of Theatre OR, an Education Coordinator at Escalate Dance & Theater Studio, has been a Resident Artist at Stages Theater Company since 1999, and is the strategic coordinator of development for The Next Step Theatre in Maple Grove, MN.
Recently, Todd was added to the Guthrie Theatre’s roster of teaching artists. Through the Guthrie Theatre, Todd teaches improvisation, mask and physical theater, and a variety of acting courses within the Twin Cities. In addition to his work here in Minnesota, Todd has toured both the West Coast and Canada with the Dell’ Arte Player’s Company, and graduated from Second City’s ETC Improvisation Program in Chicago. Todd believes that by sharing the experience of focused fun on stage, every young artist can excel. We at Home Base Theatre Company believe that Todd is the best-of-the-best, and cannot wait to add the “Kingdom of Far, Far Away” to Todd’s list of theatrical abodes.
